Simple food, done carefully
All Buru opened on Lafayette Avenue with one idea: sushi should be fresh, fairly priced and close to home. Fish arrives and is portioned the same day, rice is seasoned in small batches, and nothing sits around waiting.
Mix and match your own box, take a don bowl to Fort Greene Park, or order a platter for the office. However you eat it, it is cut to order.
Something for everyone at the table
Beyond sushi there is Japanese curry rice, gyu don, karaage and hot miso soup for anyone who would rather skip the raw fish — plus tofu vegan sets, veggie inari and clearly marked gluten-free plates.
Finish with strawberry mochi or a Ramune, and for celebrations ask about our salmon cake — a centerpiece made entirely of sushi.
